Palmer Home

We (Dad, Susie, Sarah and I) got back from a wonderful mission trip to Palmer Home on Friday night. It was so fun! A typical day for me was -

6:45 wake up and do devotions

8:00 eat breakfast

8:45 get ready for work

9:00 do random work jobs (work at the thrift store, paint a fence, weed the gardens, etc)

12:00 lunch

1:00 do more work jobs

4:00 free time (showers, clean up, interact with Palmer Home kids)

5:30 dinner

6:30 nightly activity (play in pool, go skating, play with kids)

8:45 worship time with group

10:15 small groups (roomates and team leader)

11:30 get ready for bed

and then, for my group, we usaully talked until 1:00-1:45, and then went to sleep:)

I am sure I will post more about the trip later (with pictures), so stay tuned.

Visit

We had a wonderful visit from the Keisters/Garrisons. They arrived on Wednesday at about 2:30, and we talked for awhile and met Hans (who is ADORABLE!). Then we went out to get a few groceries to use for our tea party. Once we got back, we made scones and carob brownies. After Dad grilled the burgers, we ate dinner, and played "Family" and "Psychiatrist" for the rest of the night. Today, we got up, made fruit salad, prepared the tea food, had our tea party for breakfast, put away food, and played "Psychiatrist" until they had to leave at about 10:30.

Sarah tryed some different methods for making the scones...this one involved spreading the dough on the countertop and then scraping it back up with a spoon and dropping it on a cookie sheet.

Sarah loves raw meat ;)

Peter and Adrian played chess while we baked yummy food for our tea party.
